Hydrerabad, India
2022
I distinctly remember it being April 2017 when I was approached to design this space and since it’s opened in November of the same year it’s been the talk of Hyderabad and fetched us many an eyeball!
So, when the owners said they wanted to reinvent it, we had to pull out all the stops to put our mind to it and top what we had done earlier already! We obviously didn’t want the guests to think we had done a half-baked job of any kind!
It took us about 2 months to finally come upon an idea all of us loved and immediately said ‘let’s go’ and with 3 months of meticulous execution, the new Farzi cafe was born!
The central wow factor of it all was the 100 x 16 feet library that hosts 6000 handpicked books! Taking that as a starting point other elements just fell into place.. be it the stage backdrop with the LED ladders and a fun monochrome mural that ties it all together! The pop of color was our burgundy bar that stretches from the indoors to the new outdoor area giving the space and its new addition a seamless feel!
The large vertical green wall manning the private dining areas gives a sense of lushness as it offsets from the printed tile floor! Tied together with a central tree with a skylight and falling branch shaped lights around it, this space looks fresh and exciting both in the day and in the night!
The family dining area comes manned now with a refreshed color pallet, a focal point with a ‘Farzi’ man behind the mask and accessories to cosy it up!
Sound proofing the newly extended space itself was a mammoth task but well worth it as the space is equipped to pack in an easy 500 people to party the night away! When it comes to renovations, you really have to touch upon every piece of the space to get that fully refreshed and reinvented feel.. and we do feel we’ve done just that!
