The newest addition to the chain from Massive Restaurants, Farzi Cafe, Kolkata is an amalgamation of ideas, all inspired by the City of Joy!
And as we did our research, we truly found the joy in all the elements of Calcutta (still love to call it that). The idea was to take one quirky, inspired element from each of the characteristics so true to the city. Right from the entry, the flower murals to the dome lights with the terracotta danglers, terracotta being such a dear and known craft, we transferred that on to the wall full of taxi yellow masks too! The wall studded with moving fans, a kinetic installation entitled “Hawa aane do” is imbibed from the huge and prominent industrial culture of the city.

The central piece de resistance without a doubt is the kinetic chandelier – a reminder of how the city is always moving, always bustling with energy!
The vibrant colors of greens, pinks and yellows are our shot at giving Farzi Cafe a complete switch to a fresh new feel making it more young, more hip, more Instagram-able (gotta’ roll with the times)!
